"Eye"-ya Napa!

This time the Itcy Eye is in Ayia Napa, the Clubbing Central of Cyprus. At least this is how it is known best but trust me when I say it is much more than this!

Yes, the nightlife and party cruises are abundant in Napa with events happening pretty much every night in the height of summer but nowadays Ayia Napa has so much more to offer!

It is fast becoming one of the most popular places to married on the island with its perfect coastal location and amazing hotels. With the nightlife available it is also the ideal place to hold your hen or stag dos before taking your vows. Local businesses also offer everything you could possible need for your big day including hair and makeup, photographers, wedding cars, favours, signage, and decor so you need not travel far or load up your suitcases to bring everything over.

Ayia Napa is also a fantastic place for families with a whole host of family friendly restaurants that have play areas, the great Luna Parks (fairground style areas with rides), waterparks, and now even Dinosaur Land! It boosts the most amazing beaches with something for everyone including every watersport imaginable, lovely beachside bars and restaurants, and, for the more lively of us, beach parties. They are some of the cleanest and best beaches that Europe has to offer and they are right here in Cyprus, on our door step!

If you are looking to get out and about whilst here then why not look at hiring a quad, or buggy, from one of the local bike rental companies and venture around not only Ayia Napa but beyond. There is a great bus service and various excursions available like the open top bus tours and off road buggy/quad trips if you fancy a little adventure.

Ayia Napa Harbor is a definite must see too with various boat trips from sight seeing and cruises to pirates and partying!
Talking of partying, it wouldnt be right for us not to mention the original reason for Ayia Napa being so well known, its nightlife! The main Bar Street is the place to be if you are wanting to experience the real Napa after dark. With bars and music to suit every taste from from karaoke to heavy rock and everything in between you are sure to find your ideal spot. There are many different bar crawls on offer and no shortage of Taxis available for your trip home at the end of the night (just make sure you remember where you are staying).

If you are looking for something a little different why not try a spa day at one of the hotels or visit one of the holistic specialists here. You can also soak up a bit of local culture at the museum or at the outdoor sculpture park. There are some great pieces of street art to see as well or if you feel like taking a permanent piece of art home with you why not take a look at some of the local Tattoo artists and studios that are within the town.

Ayia Napa really is a place that has everything from art and relaxation to adventure and nightlife. Host to a multitude of experiences, sights, sounds, and tastes you are sure to never be left feeling disappointed after a trip to this amazing harbor town!

Oh "Eye" do like to be beside the seaside!

This month we are heading to Kapparis with the Itcy Eye to see what this lovely little town has to offer. If we were in the UK Kapparis would definitely be referred to as a Seaside Town. It has pretty much everything we would connect with a seaside resort from restaurants to souvenirs and, with pretty much every road down ending at the beach, you couldn't get much more coastal!

Kapparis boasts some of the most beautiful beaches and with coastal pathways leading all the way to the harbour village of Ayia Triada you can visit every one! You can treat yourself to some water sports along the way or even to a spot of lunch once you reach Ayia Triada at one of the public houses just up from the main beach.

The main road in the town holds all you could need for a fantastic holiday with amazing restaurants, child friendly areas, supermarkets, cocktail bars, pubs, snack bars, sea view bars, a local taxi service, swimming pools, a spa, and even a card shop and tattoo studio! There are plenty of options for some great entertainment in the evenings too from bingo, to karaoke, to live singers and performers. Everything is within walking distance of each other making life easy and relaxed, just as it should be in Cyprus.

Should you choose to explore the area of Famagusta then Kapparis is the ideal place to stay as it has a great central location with the main city of Paralimni a stone's throw away and Pernera and Protaras a mere 5-10 minute drive. You can get to Ayia Napa in around 15 minutes by car, or, if you're heading on a night out, Kapparis is also on the main bus route.

You can't go wrong visiting this small coastal town, be it for a week, or just for a day, it is definitely worth taking the time to stop by. And, if you like that much you can always stop in at the local Property Realtors for a visit too ;)

Keeping an (Itcy) Eye on Pernera!

Pernera is a beautiful, yet small, fishing village on the eastern coast of Cyprus. Although it is quite a popular tourist area, we also feel that it is a bit of a hidden gem and welcomed the thought of including it in our blog
Pernera is a great destination for families or for those who are looking for a more relaxed holiday. Pretty much everything you need is within walking distance to ensure that you have a lovely stay without the added stress of travelling too far if you don’t want to.
The main street of Pernera holds a whole host of different places including many shops, bars, and restaurants. It also has some of the most recognised signage in the area due to the popularity of some of these places with tourists, and locals, alike.

This road has it all, a Tourist Information Centre, Hairdressers, Pharmacy, Bakery, Supermarkets, Tattoo Studio, Off Licence, and even an Art Gallery, and its leads straight down to the coast and the lovely sandy beaches.

As you reach the sea you will find the Pernera to Protaras Boardwalk. This is a truly beautiful coastal path, leading you past some amazing hotel grounds and beaches, and with plenty of places to stop for a refreshing beverage or spot of lunch along the way. It also gives you the opportunity to admire some fantastic views and may even lead you to taking part in some of the great water sports and boat trips that are available. At night the path is flood lit so as to create a whole new ambience, perfect for that late dinner date and romantic walk!

In Pernera itself you are definitely not short of inspiration for what to do. You have many places that serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner, to suit any taste buds from an English breakfast to a Mexican Fajita. There are also some lovely eateries and bars with play areas for the little ones and the village even has its own water park at one of the local hotels.

With this lovely area, hotels, beachfront, and food available, Pernera is also the perfect place for a wedding too. Surrounded by the sun, sea, sand, and happy locals it is definitely one of the best places to tie the knot and then enjoy a wonderful honeymoon.
